Frequently Asked Laser Questions
Q: What is a Medical Director?
A Medical Director, crucial to your clinic or med spa, is either a Nurse Practitioner or a Medical Doctor. This professional oversees your practice, ensuring adherence to the scope of practice. Their license number is used to obtain insurance, specifically professional liability insurance, safeguarding both you and your clients. Throughout our classes, we delve into the advantages and considerations of having a Nurse Practitioner versus a Medical Doctor as your Medical Director.
Q: Who can perform LASER procedures?
In the state of Idaho, LASER procedures can be performed by anyone under the oversight of a Medical Director. This flexibility allows a Medical Director to delegate LASER responsibilities to individuals with diverse backgrounds. While anyone can technically perform LASER procedures, having a foundational knowledge of skin anatomy is highly beneficial. Our curriculum includes 40 hours of pre-work to ensure a comprehensive understanding of skin layers and related concepts. Our students typically include nurses and estheticians, but we've also certified individuals solely passionate about LASER procedures who have obtained a Medical Director without interest in additional esthetic services.
Q: What if I don't finish my pre-work in time?
Recognizing the intensity of our pre-work, filled with technical terms and concepts, we understand it might be challenging to complete within the initially allotted time. If you find yourself in this situation, simply notify the academy seven days before your class date. You will then be seamlessly moved to the next scheduled class. Please note that this opportunity to reschedule is available only once. We are committed to ensuring you are well-prepared for the LASER training journey.
Q: How will I know the legal LASER requirements in the state of Idaho?
At our academy, we've got you covered. We specialize in imparting a deep understanding of the legal LASER requirements specific to the state of Idaho. Our comprehensive curriculum ensures you leave with an intense comprehension of the legal landscape. As an added resource, our class includes a copy of a relationship agreement meticulously crafted by an attorney. This agreement serves as a vital document between you and your chosen Medical Director, especially if you opt for the route of self-employment. Rest assured, you'll have the knowledge and documentation necessary to navigate the legal intricacies of LASER procedures in Idaho.
Q: What are the legalities of practicing aesthetics in Idaho?
In the evolving world of aesthetics, where the marvels of technology blend seamlessly with the art of beauty, understanding the legal boundaries and obligations is paramount.

ASHLEY GRAHAM
I have taken courses from both Aesthetics Academy of Idaho and Permanent Make Up of Idaho. All of the courses were fairly priced and a GREAT value for the money paid. The instructors are knowledgeable and kind, plus I learned everything I needed to know to start offering each service immediately and was able to continue to reach out to the instructors for additional help and information after the courses were completed. I can't recommend Aesthetics Academy of Idaho and Permanent Make Up of Idaho enough. If you are an aesthetician looking to continue your education, look no further."

I took the Dermaplaning course with Aesthetics Academy of Idaho shortly out of school and absolutely loved it! I can't say greater things of the team there. They had amazing communication, thorough training and created a great learning culture. I felt so comfortable asking questions and having informative conversations with them and the other estheticians taking the course. I enjoyed that we were able to talk through the treatment, see a model and then exchange on each other. It's the way I learn best to practice and then feel what's it is like. Honestly would reccomend them 100% for all their higher education courses!!
MELANIE TITUS
I took the spray tan course at Aesthetics of Idaho and loved it! If you are looking to start spray tanning, I highly recommend taking this course! Marti was so nice and helpful and her one day class was so valuable! Even after the course was completed, Marti made herself available if we had questions or needed any help! Highly recommend!”
