Module 1: Introduction to Light Therapy
- Explanation of Light Therapy: This module will introduce the concept of light therapy, focusing on the application of light energy to tissue for therapeutic benefits. It will cover the healing and anti-inflammatory properties of photo therapy and its various applications in medical fields.
- Biological Pathways of Light: This section will explore the three biological pathways of light: vision, non-visual optic pathway, and photobio-modulation. It will highlight the significance of different types of bioactive light in humans, such as blue light, UV light, far-infrared, red light, and near-infrared.
Module 2: Light Penetration and Wavelengths
- Understanding Wavelength: This module will delve into the concept of wavelength and its relationship with the frequency of light. It will explain how the human visual system perceives different wavelengths as colors and the significance of nanometers in measuring wavelengths.
- How Deep Does Light Penetrate Our Body: This section will discuss the factors influencing light penetration, such as tissue type, power output of devices, distance from the body, and light wavelength. It will emphasize the importance of different wavelengths and their penetration depth for various treatments.
Module 3: LED Therapy and Wavelengths
- Overview of LED Therapy: This module will introduce LED therapy as a versatile modality and its application as a standalone or add-on treatment in spa services. It will provide an overview of the most commonly used wavelengths in LED photo therapy, including blue, red, and near-infrared light.
- LED Therapy Protocols: This section will cover different protocols for LED therapy in various aesthetic and medical treatments, such as facials, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, microneedling, and more. It will outline the recommended exposure time and treatment area for each wavelength.

- Understanding the Effects on Skin: This module will explore the various benefits of LED therapy on the skin, including the stimulation of collagen synthesis, elastin production, reduction of inflammation, wound healing, and improvement in skin tone and texture.

You will also receive copies of client intake forms, consent forms and pre and post information. You will also learn how to set your pricing for these treatments and how to add them to your current menu.
This is a demonstration class only. You will observe two total treatments but will learn multiple ways to incorporate light therapy into your aesthetics practice as a stand alone treatment or with treatment blending.
