Mixing Treatments

10/31/2023

Hello there, fellow skincare enthusiast! We get asked all the time about mixing treatments and we're here to provide some friendly guidance. Whether you're a seasoned professional or just dipping your toes into the world of aesthetics, it's important to understand the do's and don'ts of combining treatments for the best results.

Mixing It Up Can Be Tricky
We get it; you want to make the most of your time with your clients. Who doesn't? But here's the scoop: while alternating treatments is fantastic, doing them all at once isn't the best approach. Let's break it down in a way that's easy to understand.
  • Microneedling + Peels:
Peels should work from the top down, not inside out. While needling can help topical products penetrate deeper, combining it with a peel that already goes deep can cause problems. Give your skin a breather and separate these treatments by at least 1-2 weeks.
  • Photo Rejuv (lasers, IPL) + Peels:
IPL uses heat to stimulate tissue regeneration. Pairing it with chemical peels can result in potential blisters, pigmentation issues, or intense skin irritation. We recommend maintaining a gap of at least 1-2 weeks between these treatments.

Your Skin Needs Time to Shine
Remember, your skin needs some downtime to heal and regenerate properly. Overloading it with treatments can lead to:
  • Redness
  • Irritation
  • Roughness and dryness
  • Pigmentation from constant inflammation or even scarring

Sometimes, less is more. So, space out your treatments to achieve the best results with minimal potential problems. Collagen III, which is essential for improving fine lines and scarring, takes time to generate – about 2-3 weeks. Don't rush it; patience is key.

Achieving your skincare goals is a gradual process, much like building a sturdy structure brick by brick. Consistency is key.
